BMX – FNQ titles Results
June 14th, 2011Full results for the Off ‘n’On Team for the FNQ Titles held in Townsville on the 11th and 12th of June 2011.
Well done to all that rode, Commiserations have to go to Chris Wells who rode fantastic over the weekend but crashed out in the finals, Hope all is well and not too injured. Jakob Wells had a great weekend but missed out on the finals by a mere 2 points.. Chin up dude, you rode great. Hayley Beauchamp had some tough riders in her heats and rode fantastic in the finals to avoid some carnage in the second straight to pull off a second place. Top ride Hayles… Brendan Floriduz had his usual battle with Taylor Foster all weekend and played possum well in the cruiser class, taking it easy in the heats and pulling out a fantastic ride to blitz the whole field to pull a first in the final.. But on the 20” he had a tough 1st berm move and clipped Taylor’s rear tyre and couldn’t make up the lost ground. Still a great weekend for Brendan.. Harrison Buswell had great heats and rode well in the final to blitz the field and snag the 1FNQ plate… Top riding by all.. Tough heats and great results…
Shout out goes to Ken Beauchamp who couldn’t ride due to a nagging injury and to Gary Winmill who couldn’t compete due to him being outside the FNQ zone.. You’ll have to move to Townsville if you want an FNQ Plate Gary.. I’m sure we could find you a bed… Somewhere…
Special mention has to go out to Angie Floriduz who was asked at the last minute to put forward some riders for the Corporate Team and the Club Team classes for the weekend. Angie did her homework and put forward a Off ‘n’On team of Brendan, Chris, Harrison and Hayley who took out the corporate team trophy. And a team of Paige Lofts, Brendan Floriduz, Daniel Douglas and Joel Grace who took out the Club Team Trophy with a massive 476 points out of a total 480… Well done to all and a nice pick from Angie.. A great part of the Off ‘n’ On Family. Check out the pics in the Image Gallery

T’ville Cycle Club – Gold Fever Le Tour
June 10th, 2011| August 13, 2011 | to | August 14, 2011 |
We invite cyclists to come to Charters Toweres for the Inagural ‘Gold Fever Le Tour’ in 2011.
The Gold Fever Le Tour is the combination of two events – The Goldfields to Paradise Road Race (Bob Campbell Memorial) and the Charters Towers Gold Fever Festival. It came to fruition when Townsville Cyclist, Jason Read, moved to Charters Towers and found there was no longer a cycle club. After speaking to Les Preston of the Townsville Cycle club they decided to approach the Charters Towers Regional Council with the intention of bringing cycling back to Charters Towers through complementing the existing road race held every year from Charters Towers to Townsville.
By making this event a 3 Stage Tour and combining it with the Gold Fever Festival, it has been well received by both professional and novice riders, as well as Cycling Queensland. It is anticipated this will help reform the Charters Towers Cycle Club in the future.
More details to be published soon, however now is the time to make your accommodation booking in Charters Towers – accommodation will be booked out very quickly once news of this event is out.
The Townsville Cycle Club and Charters Towers are both steeped in tradition which all goes well for a great event for now and in the future – see you there.
